FAQ:
Q: Does this 200G QSFP56 FR4 support DDM?
A: Yes, the built-in digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) allows access to real-time operating parameters.
Q: Is QSFP56 compatible with QSFP-DD?
A: Though QSFP56-DD has the double density, its size is similar to QSFP56. 400G QSFP56-DD port is backward compatible with the QSFP transceiver which means as long as the switch supports, QSFP56 can work on the QSFP56-DD port. When using a QSFP56 module in an QSFP56-DD port, this port will be configured for a data rate of 200G, instead of 400G.
Q: What is the difference between QSFP56 and QSFP28?
A: The most significant change from QSFP+and QSFP28 to QSFP56 is that QSFP56 changes from NRZ encoding to PAM4 encoding.
Compared to QSFP+and QSFP28, QSFP56 has a higher network speed due to its 200G QSFP supporting 4 × 50G channels. QSFP28 supports 4 × 25G channels and, like QSFP+, includes a 4-channel optical transmitter and a 4-channel optical receiver. Although QSFP56 still uses 4 channels as QSFP28, the modulation is doubled to 50G per channel, which allows for more data on existing fibers and is therefore more suitable for ultra large scale data center networks.
